Tucked away in Manshiyat Naser, also known as Garbage City, lies the breathtaking Cave Church of Saint Simon. This massive rock-hewn monastery is home to intricate carvings and an amphitheater-style seating area that can accommodate thousands. Visiting this community offers an eye-opening experience into their way of life, their craft in repurposing waste, and the vital role they play in Cairo’s ecosystem. 2.
